I created this app to help people with limited speaking abilities communicate with their service dogs or pet dogs more easily. Sometimes stroke survivors or individuals who have hearing impairments cannot speak to give commands to their dogs. The Doggy Do app gives the voice command for them at the touch of a button.
Conversely, the Doggy Do app might help teach stroke survivors who suffer from aphasia to learn to say these simple commands again with the reinforcements it provides. It combines photos, words, and sound to help a person give commands to their dog.
My brother had a massive stroke and consequently suffered from aphasia. This inspired me to create such an app. I want to make the lives of people with disabilities easier and give them a sense of independence. I also love dogs. I also have a children's book out now about a dog entitled Corrie Cocker Spaniel. Check it out. I hope my app will enhance someone's life.
